Jamie Lamontagne is the President of the Greater Sudbury Basketball Association (GSBA) and the Coaching Director for the Valley East Minor Basketball League (VEMBL). A teacher since 1998 and an elementary school physical education specialist since 2000, Jamie has over two decades of coaching experience at the elementary, high school, house-league, and competitive representative levels.
He is passionate about athlete development, coach education, and building a strong, positive basketball culture in Greater Sudbury.

Martin Nadeau is a dedicated physical education teacher and coach with over 25 years of experience in the education field. Committed to promoting healthy, active lifestyles, Martin brings energy and purpose to his teaching, empowering students to build confidence, teamwork skills, and lifelong habits through physical activity.
He has coached at multiple levels—elementary, secondary, and competitive club programs—working with both boys’ and girls’ teams. His coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, discipline, resilience, and personal growth.
In addition to teaching and coaching, Martin is a certified basketball referee qualified to officiate games up to the semi-professional level. He serves as President and Education Officer of the local basketball officials’ association, where he supports referees, contributes to the development of officiating standards, and helps strengthen the sport’s structure at the regional level.

Anik Blanchard is the Secretary and Social Media Manager for the Greater Sudbury Basketball Association. With 22 years of experience as an elementary school teacher. She now works as a teacher union representative for the past three years, advocating for educators and supporting members in the workplace. Actively involved in basketball at various levels through her sons, she joined the GSBA Board to help strengthen and grow a positive, inclusive, and sustainable basketball community in Greater Sudbury.

Mike Clarke is the Director of Development for the GSBA, bringing over 30 years of coaching experience across all levels of the game—from grassroots youth development to head coaching roles at the CCAA, U Sports, and provincial team levels. Passionate about growing the sport, Mike takes pride in the many players and coaches he has mentored who have gone on to successful coaching careers. In his role with GSBA, he works closely with the local basketball community to create meaningful development opportunities that help players and coaches reach their full potential.

Pam Bazinet serves as Vice President, Access and Partnerships with GSBA and brings more than 15 years of involvement in community basketball. She has held several roles with the Valley East Minor Basketball League (VEMBL) and currently serves as Equipment Director, while continuing to coach the U6 division to help introduce the game to its youngest players. Pam’s children have participated in basketball at all levels, including school programs, VEMBL, and GSBA, giving her a strong understanding of the player and family experience. She began officiating as a basketball referee in 2022 as a way to give back, share her knowledge, and support the game that has been a central part of her family and community.

Derrick Hartley serves as Treasurer of the Greater Sudbury Basketball Association (GSBA), bringing a strong blend of business leadership and deep basketball experience to the board. A passionate and respected leader within the basketball community, Derrick has over 20 years of coaching experience across multiple levels of the game, including high school, rep basketball, Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) regional and development teams, and the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA).
In addition to his extensive coaching background, Derrick has built a successful professional career serving as a General Manager, Divisional Vice President, and Vice President of Sales. His combined expertise in leadership, financial oversight, and team development strengthens GSBA’s governance and long-term planning.
Dedicated to growing the sport and developing athletes, Derrick takes great pride in mentoring players and helping them build confidence, skill, and character both on and off the court. Derrick remains a proud advocate for community basketball and the next generation of players and coaches.

Tony Church began coaching over 30 years ago in Toronto. He has enjoyed coaching in community house league, club, high school, and post-secondary levels. Having had the opportunity to learn from and work with some great coaches, Tony hopes to be able to continue to help players develop their individual basketball skills and to grow as players, people, and lifelong learners and lovers of the game. Tony is also the Director of the School of Sports Administration (SPAD) at Laurentian University.
